Premium Bonds

Opened my mail this morning to find I had won another prize of £50 this month. It is normally a £25 prize most months, so am well pleased. Of all the safe investments I think that Premium bonds pay out more than any savings account or bank account interest, well worth the investment.

Earlier this year I decided to regrow an old friend from my days in the RAF and beyond. I was surprised at how quickly it grew and seems to have taken over my face recently. I have proved that it can grow and although I liked it in the beginning, I think it is time to shave it off, maybe in a week or so.

Dug out this tie the other day, it was a gift from my younger brother Chic when he worked out in Saudi at Tabuk, a RSAF Lightning tie with logo. Over the years whilst in the RAF, I collected pin badges from units either stationed at or visiting stations.

First cycle ride this year

Dusted off the bike, pumped up the tyres, and went for a run round the block to test out my Strava app. A bit windy, but enjoyed the ride.

What if

Messing about in P3D flight sim and created this shot of what it was like at RAF Binbrook in it's heyday. XS904 back where used to fly from.

Windows 10 update

Very large windows 10 update yesterday, had wondered why my PC was running slow all day, due to the downloads. The only thing that usually gets messed up is that my sound settings get altered ie: no sounds from the front headset ports, and the sound manager does not work. Eventually reinstalled the realtek sound manager and sorted out connections which now work.

The biggest annoyance is that all desktop shortcuts have returned with arrows on the icons, so, again had to download the latest Windows Tweakui program which gives the option to remove the arrows, saving having to edit the registry to do the same job.

All back to a working system now.

Real Flight Sim

Last Thursday was a special treat, my son in law Matt shared a Xmas present, 2 tickets to fly a 737 at a proper flight sim in Peterborough.

Loved every minute of it. we each had half an hour and I managed to not crash land it. Quite an experience. Have now loaded a 737 model in my own flight sim, to have a bit more practise.
